Revitalizer replacement periods and installation for refrigerator water dispenser

I have a few questions for which I was unable to find clear answers in your knowledge base:

1).  What is the recommended replacement frequency of the revitalizer module ?

2).  I see mention (and a kit) to install the unit for the ice maker  refrigerator.  I also noticed that flow rates seem to be important.  We get our drinking water from the refrigerator thru the door dispenser.   Will the A305 work properly to dispense drinking water thru that mechanism?  specifically, will flow be sufficient?  and, How would you recommend dealing with the initial "strong mineral taste" on new or after filter replacements?

  • Hi George,

    Here are your answers:

    1. You don't need to replace it unless it breaks for some reason. Everything in the revitalizer is mechanical so it will last as long as the module is not broken.

    2. You can use the fridge to dispense your water, but you do need to have a way to flush every new set of filters for 20 min. This is also how you deal with the mineral taste, you simply flush more.  After the initial 20 min. we recommend flushing daily for 5 min until the taste is gone. The only issue with the fridge only dispenser is the flushing, so if you have a faucet installed as well, this wouldn't be a problem.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
